Treating Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the Hip with Bone Marrow Concentrate and Arthrex® Quickset™

Sébastien Parratte, MD, PhD, (Marseille, France) details his technique and rationale for using bone marrow concentrate (BMC) in addition to Arthrex® Quickset™ when performing a core decompression to treat avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip. Quickset is a macroporous, injectable, resorbable calcium phosphate cement provided in an easy-to-use, closed mixing system. Quickset was designed to maximize porosity on a micro and macro level without compromising its strength characteristics or injectable capabilities.
