DX SwiveLock® Thumb UCL Repair With the InternalBrace™ Procedure

Edward Birdsong, MD (Pittsburgh, PA), demonstrates an ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) repair of the thumb with InternalBrace™ ligament augmentation. The 3.5 mm DX SwiveLock® anchor with 4-0 FiberWire® suture is used to complete the primary repair followed by the InternalBrace procedure with 1.5 mm LabralTape™ suture.

The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.
