ArthroCell™ and ArthroCell Plus bone grafts are osteogenic, osteoinductive, and osteoconductive—the three elements that are essential for bone formation. Both deliver a 100% human-derived product that mimics the structure of native bone, provides optimal handling, and resists irrigation. ArthroCell and ArthroCell Plus bone grafts use a novel DMSO-free cryoprotectant for preservation of cells, eliminating the need to rinse or decant during graft preparation. This viable bone matrix supports the bone remodeling process across a wide array of orthopedic and spinal applications.

Procedure

Arthrocell is a viable bone allograft that contains cellular, scaffold, and gel components derived from human bone. The microparticulate scaffold is comprised of a proprietary blend of cortical and cancellous allograft bone. The bone-derived gel component provides optimal handling and resists irrigation. The cellular component consists of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), osteoprogenitor cells and pluripotent cells.

A triple arthrodesis is the fusion of the subtalar, calcaneocuboid, and talonavicular joints. Arthrex has developed 5.0 mm Large and 7.0 mm XL Compression FT Screws and DynaNite® Nitinol staples as options for this procedure. After removing any remaining cartilage and subchondral bone and applying biologic materials to accelerate fusion, apply fixation to compress and stabilize the joint.
