Pinnacle Inc. is a Metro-Detroit based sales agency that is privileged to be the exclusive distributor of Arthrex medical products throughout Southeast Michigan. As our industry continues to thrive and as Pinnacle and Arthrex continue to grow, we have designed a program to help entry-level talent better understand our business, gain real world experience in medical sales, and kick-start your career with one of the top Arthrex agencies in North America.
The Pinnacle Inc. Internship Program is a PAID, 12-week program over the course of the summer, offering hands-on experience in medical device sales while delivering on Arthrex’s mission of “helping surgeons treat their patients better”. The ultimate goal of this program is to prepare you for this career after college and give you a head start on being successful in the medical device sales industry.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, here are the skills we are looking for:
- You are currently enrolled in college as a junior or senior.
- You have a passion for medicine, specifically orthopedics, and helping surgeons treat their patients better.
- You can work occasional evenings or weekend days.
- You are not afraid to handle a variety of anatomic specimens (human body parts, including bones and joints).
- You have a strong drive and passion for learning.
- You thrive in a dynamic, face-paced work environment.
- You are an excellent communicator, both with internal and external parties.
- You are highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.
- You have basic computer knowledge with the tenacity to learn Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
PROGRAM:
As an Intern for Pinnacle Inc., you will work alongside some of the most experienced individuals in the industry, contributing to the mission and goals of the team you work with. You will spend your internship fully immersed in the life of a Medical Device Sales Representative and most of your time will be spent doing the following:
- Learning the proper foundations and techniques to begin a successful career in the medical device sales industry.
- Learning how to manage successful accounts by working collaboratively with experienced representatives in the field.
- Building strong business relationships with surgeons and hospital staff.
- Learning the full sales cycle including case scheduling, inventory requests, logistics of products for case coverage, billing for cases and follow-up.
- Assisting in hosting laboratory events, including communication, ordering supplies, set up, breakdown, and compliance reporting.
- Participating in weekly education and sales meetings.
The goal is for you to gain knowledge in the following areas:
Medical Device Sales:
- Sports Medicine – Specializes in products and surgical techniques that treat acute traumas such as fractures, sprains, and dislocations as well as chronic overuse injuries including tendonitis and overtraining syndrome.
- Extremities & Trauma - Specializes in products and surgical techniques that treat injuries to extremities including hand, wrist, foot, and ankle, as well as products that treat long bone trauma.
- Orthobiologics - Specializes in products that help treat muscle and bone issues and/or help injuries heal more quickly.
- Business Planning and Sales Numbers - Understand sales quotas and how to meet those quotas.
- Relationship Building - Establishing and maintaining connections with healthcare professionals to foster trust, cooperation, and effective communication.
Medical Education:
- Human Anatomy – Education of the structure of the human body, including its bones, joints, muscles, and organ systems.
- Operating Room Etiquette - Education on how to run an operating room as a sales representative.
- Laboratory Events & Maintenance – Facilitation of educational events including surgical technique lectures and laboratory practice surgeries.
Operations/Inventory:
- Logistics - Gain hands-on familiarity with orthopedic surgical trays and Arthrex products and learn to manage medical device inventory.
- Billing - Create and submit sales orders for customers.
