Description

The Orthopedic Sales Representative is responsible for achieving predetermined sales goals and quotas within their assigned territory. This role requires the ability to establish, build, and maintain strong customer relationships through continuous communication and in-person appointments. The position demands maintaining expert knowledge of our market-leading product portfolio, with a key responsibility of consulting surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of our implants and instruments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales objectives for the assigned territory, representing Active Medical LLC, an independent agency authorized to sell Arthrex products, to a sophisticated audience of surgeons and healthcare professionals. Arthrex is a world-class leader in the orthopedic industry.
  • Increase territory results by building and maintaining strong business relationships, and developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives.
  • Regularly communicate with current and prospective customer accounts on topics including product updates, portfolio changes, and educational opportunities.
  • Develop and execute new sales plans and marketing strategies to position the organization competitively and meet/exceed territory objectives.
  • Identify the needs of new prospects and provide appropriate responses through written, telephone, and face-to-face communication.
  • Cross-sell additional products and manage the introduction of new products as they become available.
  • Address any challenges or issues that arise at customer accounts, ensuring a high level of service.
  • Support compliance and uphold the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting organizational assets, acting with ethics and integrity, and adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to receive coaching, training, and mentoring; share knowledge with peer Sales Representatives and Sales Associates as needed.
  • Maintain training in sales skills, product features/benefits, and other essential business applications.
  • Collect competitive data and stay current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
  • Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings, sometimes outside regular business hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to connect with customers and key stakeholders within the orthopedic and sports medicine market.
  • Background in sales, marketing, or pre-med preferred. Experience as a physical therapist (PT), athletic trainer (ATC), or in a related clinical role is a strong plus.
  • Previous experience as an associate in the orthopedic industry is advantageous.
  • Must be comfortable working in surgery/operating room environments.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills are essential.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings, as needed to meet with healthcare professionals and attend surgeries.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills

  • Current driver's license.
  • Ability to travel as required by the job.
