Description
The Medical Courier/Medical Device Service Specialist is responsible for the delivery and pick up of Orthopedic Medical Device equipment among hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Delivery and pick up of equipment and products will occur in the Veritas North District geography which includes the greater Columbus, Georgia area and Southern Georgia down to Thomasville. This position is specifically responsible for operating a company-owned small van or SUV type vehicle as directed. The right candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professionalism along with outstanding routing and directional skills is necessary to ensure equipment is delivered punctually. Top candidates must have a clean driving record. Additional responsibilities for this position may include assembly operations in our warehouse. Tasks include assembling surgical kits along with organizing and packing equipment/product needs for upcoming surgical cases as well as coordinating equipment needs with Sales Reps.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist the Sales Reps and Product Managers with transporting various medical equipment between healthcare facilities in our geographic territory and our warehouse.
- Receiving medical items and understanding instructions from the healthcare facility.
- Ensuring that medical items are securely stored in the delivery vehicle.
- Ensuring credibility of all documentation related to medical items.
- Mapping out a route to the destination, considering traffic and mileage.
- Ensuring the punctual collection and delivery of medical items from the healthcare facility.
- Ensuring that recipients sign delivery receipts and designations are verified.
- Ensuring the safety of each item delivered.
- Accurately counting and taking inventory of medical items to be collected or delivered.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (essential).
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skill
- Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to urgent situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised with emphasis on punctuality
- Ability to lift at least 55 pounds
