Oak Med Inc proudly represents Arthrex products and surgical techniques in Illinois. We are seeking a Medical Education Manager to join our team in Wheaton, IL.

We are looking to hire a Medical Education Manager for Oak Med, who can provide technical and clinical support for the training curriculum that addresses the changing needs of Oak Med representatives, leadership personnel, and healthcare provider customers. The Medical Education Manager will organize, manage, and conduct healthcare provider surgical skills labs and training sessions. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Product manufacturer’s product line and the medical and surgical procedures specific to those products including technical aspects and features as well as the following:

  • Develop and conduct local Representative training on the Product manufacturer’s products and procedures.
    • Carry out the educational objectives created for Oak Med by the product manufacturer for medical education including product and procedure training programs.
    • Teach all aspects of current procedure-specific surgical techniques using Arthrex instrumentation.
    • Implement for the local Representatives a general understanding of the orthopedic conditions, pathomechanics, and anatomy, as it relates to the utilization of the Product manufacturer’s products.
    • Serve as a liaison between Oak Med and the Arthrex Medical Education Department on local representative training activities.
    • Serve as the local system administrator for the Arthrex internet based Global University Learning Management System used for local representative training.
    • Manage new local representative New Hire Orientation and onboarding programs and meets standards for local representative training as set by Oak Med and Arthrex.
  • Participation in healthcare provider education and training programs.
    • Without influence from Oak Med sales initiatives, the Medical Education Representative will develop, arrange and supervise all local medical education activity for healthcare providers.
    • Serve as the liaison between Oak Med and Arthrex Medical Education Department on all medical education activities for healthcare providers.
    • Educate healthcare providers in the safe and effective use of the product manufacturer’s products based on the healthcare provider’s educational need.
    • Organization and execution of cadaver surgical skills workshops.
    • Maintain meticulous records of medical education activities and labs entered into MedTrack within three days of conclusion of the local event.
    • Comply with all applicable FDA and federal, state, and local laws and regulations of the country or countries of operation regarding medical device manufacture interaction and education with healthcare providers.
    • Comply with all provisions of the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • Manage extended education and training programs.
    • Responsible for demonstrating and conveying the proper use and application of the product manufacturer’s products and surgical techniques to support medical staff, operating room staff, and other pertinent facility personnel.
  • Complete additional duties and attain qualifications.
    • Fully participate in the product manufacturer’s medical education and training programs for Medical Education Representatives.
    • Attend industry meetings and applicable Medical Education training events, if appropriate.
    • Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Qualifications for the Medical Education Representative:
    • Education in a healthcare related field is preferred.
    • Experience in a healthcare related field is preferred, such as a Physician Assistant, Athletic Trainer, Nurse, Operating Room Technician, etc.
    • Ability to learn a high level of technical information, anatomy and indications as it relates to surgery and procedures.
    • Able to communicate effectively with the Oak Med employees, product manufacturer’s corporate staff, personnel, healthcare providers and healthcare facility personnel.
    • Comfortable in an Operating Room setting
    • Updated Vaccination Status for access to patient care areas.
