The Trauma Product Manager is primarily responsible for providing technical advice to customers and team members to help achieve sales growth, sales objectives and goal achievement within his or her assigned territory. The Trauma Product Manager will also develop the education of regional team members surrounding the trauma portfolio. This position is specifically responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of Arthrex trauma products and techniques. You will be consulting surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of our implants and instruments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Steelhead Surgical, an authorized agent for Arthrex, by working with a sophisticated audience comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals. 
  • Meeting and exceeding sales objectives within assigned territory for Arthrex Trauma products category. 
  • Ability to schedule and adjust to demanding but flexible schedule, due to the nature of last-minute Trauma cases. 
  • Gains and maintains an acceptable level of knowledge of the Orthopedic Trauma portfolio and product line, business objectives, pricing strategies, and proven sales techniques for Orthopedic Trauma products.
  • Train physicians on Arthrex products through education/programs (i.e. labs and training courses). Conduct Orthopedic in-service training programs at hospitals and clinics.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains contact with key customers, hospitals, OR Staff, administration, and clinicians.
  • Establishes and maintains written and oral communication with both field and internal sales management with attention to sales calls made, follow-up required, market potential and recommendations as to new sales, pricing, or promotional strategy.
  • Responsible for field inventory and sales samples as assigned.
  • Works in tandem with territory reps and managers.
  • Manage budget and expense related responsibilities.
  • Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours, as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • A minimum (2) two years sales experience in a technical sales position or sales experience in the medical device industry.
  • Industry experience in trauma, extremity or biologics products is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be comfortable in surgery/operating room environments. 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Serve as primary trauma contact between Agency management, field employees and Arthrex accounts.
  • Current Driver’s License and access to your own transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. 
  • Requires strong PC applications skills to include proficiency in various software applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing, preferably Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Requires a dynamic, assertive individual with technical-oriented leadership ability and well-developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Travel required for job effectiveness.
  • Requires the ability to meet deadlines, frequent assignment changes, periodic heavy workload, rapidly changing technology, and dynamic business growth.
  • Requires the ability to read complex reference material, written user manuals and knowledge of medical terminology.
