InternalBrace™ ATFL Talus to Fibula Ligament Augmentation
Drew Murphy, MD (Memphis, TN), presents a technique for InternalBrace™ ligament augmentation repair utilized for Brostrom repair. This repair is shown in conjunction with an ATFL primary anchor repair. The animation highlights the steps necessary for insertion and fixation of 3.5 mm BioComposite™ SwiveLock® anchor, FiberTape® suture, and 4.75 mm BioComposite SwiveLock anchor.
The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-tobone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.
