Revision THA and Fixation for Periprosthetic Fracture With FiberTape® Cerclage

Richard S. Yoon, MD (Jersey City, NJ), demonstrates using FiberTape^® cerclage for periprosthetic fracture management during revision total hip arthroplasty. Dr. Yoon calls out how the broad footprint of the FiberTape cerclage, compared to standard cables and wires, helps to securely reconstitute the femoral shaft. FiberTape cerclage is used prophylactically in preparation for reaming and insertion of the diaphyseal fitting stem. Furthermore, the low-profile design of FiberTape cerclage allows for a lateral locking plate to be placed flush against the bone.
